A few years ago I got my amateur radio operator’s license. The way I see it, in an emergency I will want two-way communication, not just a radio to listen on!  HAM radios are one of the most reliable forms of communication.

We’ve all needed a form of back up lighting sometime in our lives. Camping, power outage, finding an escaped puppy @ 2am (or is that just me?). If back up lighting is that important in day to day living, it will be that more vital if you are ever in an emergency.

Power outage or ration, severe weather, structure damage, gas ration/outage – there are plenty of scenarios that would leave you in need of some warmth. Good thing there are some great, lightweight, compact options you can include in your pack to keep you cozy if such emergencies arise.
