It is very important to remember that surviving under adverse survival conditions, the human bodies stress level greatly increases due to the abnormal conditions you are living under.  All things around are not normal and you are out of your normal comfort zone.  Remember, surviving the aftermath under extreme conditions that you’re not accustomed to, the average person will be performing a drastic increase in physical activities in order to survive.

To deal with all the stresses of survival, you need to keep a balanced diet as much as possible.  That’s why it is very important to have a variety of survival food stores that include the following:

Carbohydrates: These include breads, cereals, fruits, pastas, rice, root vegetables, candies and chocolates.  Foods high in carbohydrates are crucial the body’s organs to function properly and to supply the body with needed energy for the physical demands of survival.

Fibers: These include beans, brown rice, fruits, seeds, vegetables, whole-grain cereals, whole-meal breads and pastas.  These foods high in fiber help with constipation, help lower the risk of diabetes and heart disease, and help maintain a healthy nutritional balance under difficult survival conditions.

Minerals and Vitamins: These include fish and meats, fruits, green vegetables, nuts and seeds.  Along with these types of food that are rich in both minerals and vitamins, you will also want to have regular vitamin supplements.  The best ones to have to help keep the bodies immune system up, especially under adverse survival conditions are vitamins A, B6, C and E.

Proteins: These include dairy products, eggs, fish, meat and poultry, beans, legumes and seeds.  These foods provide crucial energy while surviving under adverse survival conditions and also help maintain and build muscle.

All these foods are extremely vital to maintain a healthy balance in the body while surviving under very adverse and/or extreme survival conditions.  All these foods can be purchased in both short term and long term cans for your survival food stores.  So when it comes to the planning and shopping for your survival food store, don’t forget to include these very important food varieties in your survival food stores.
