sabbath year blood moons

Will an end times or significant economic collapse nightmare occur in September 2015? The Harbinger predicts that before the Shemitah year concludes a great “shaking” will occur in America. It is difficult not to find a plethora of articles warning about the doom and gloom that will soon be upon us when searching anything related to prepping, survival, or September on the internet.

Jonathan Cahn, the best-selling author of The Harbinger, feels that the first economic collapse omens appeared on September 11, 2001. Cahn cites Isaiah 9:10–11 for his predictions. As previously reported by eFoodsDirect, the pastor and rabbi emphatically believes the ancient kingdom of Israel and the United States are linked by a biblical prophecy that involves the Shemitah year. The current Shemitah cycle began September 25, 2014 and ends September 13, 2015. The eight most significant postwar economic crashes have all been linked to the Sabbath year, including the Great Depression.

Every seven years, a Sabbath year (also called a Shemitah year) occurs. Just like the seventh day of the week, Sunday, is supposed to be a day of rest and reserved for the praise of God and all of our blessings, the same type of activities are supposed to occur during a designated week during the Shemitah. During this special year on the Hebrew calendar, four Blood Moons have occurred on Jewish feast days since September 11, 2001, something that has not happened during the past 2,000 years.

During the Shemitah, God can either “tear down” nations or “raise them up.” The actions taken by God, be they negative or positive, are supposed to affect the economy, military preparedness, health of citizens, and the position of leaders.

In Jonathan Chan’s The Harbinger, he states that only the northern kingdom of ancient Israel and the United States have been based upon the rules of God or chosen by God. Leviticus 25 promises bountiful harvests to come to those who observe the Shemitah and describe the observance of the occasion as a “test of religious faith.”

Excerpt from the “Events of the Seventh Shemitah Year report” on the Shemitah Blood Moons website:

“After the events of 9/11, a sycamore tree near Ground Zero was severely damaged from the falling towers. In accordance with scripture verse Isaiah 9:10–11, ‘The sycamore has been cut down, but we will replace them with cedars.’ So a cedar tree was planted to replace the damaged sycamore tree. Again, just as in the Old Testament, this was a defiant act against God. The new tree that was planted started to die. Experts were brought in to save the tree, but no matter what they did, the tree died. The tree was finally removed on April 15, 2014, the first day of a new blood moon. In the book of Genesis, Pharaoh had a dream of 7 fat cows, followed by 7 skinny cows. The Jewish slave Joseph correctly interprets the dream to mean 7 years of plenty followed by 7 years of famine. The Bible records the first ever economic cycle. Shemitah years are God’s seven-year cycles that are linked to economic activity, for God commands that in the seventh year all debts are to be forgiven.”

September 13, 2015 will be the next Elul 29 (end of a Sabbath year) of a Shemitah year. September 25 is Rosh Hashanah, Tishrei 1 of the Jewish year 5775. The first two omens noted by Cahn in The Harbinger are “The Breach” and “The Terrorist.”  According to the author, The Breach occurred when the United States lost the protection of God and the 9/11 terror attacks occurred. The Terrorist harbinger relates to the Semitic, or Middle East attackers, which both struck America on September 11 and ancient Israel by way of the Assyrian military centuries ago. Tishri is the month with follows Elul — a time when many of the end of Shemitah year incidents reportedly occur.

 Shemitah Year Events

  • A solar eclipse took place at the end of a Shemitah year on September 12, 1931. Just eight days later England decided to abandon the gold standard. A series of bank closings and a stock market crash occurred almost immediately around the world. On Wall Street the most significant month-long stock market crash in the history of the United States occurred.
  • Another solar eclipse happened at the end of another Shemitah year on September 23, 1987. The Black Monday stock market crash happened 30 days later. That crash was the greatest percentage drop during a single day in the history of the nation.
  • A stock market crash on September 29, 2008, also the end of a Shemitah year, saw the stock market fall a grand total of 777 points in a single day.

“You never want to put God in box. He doesn’t have to do anything, but the pattern has been — the last seven Shemitahs — there’s been a collapse every time. And then the last two have been exactly to the day, on this Elul 29 wipeout day,” Cahn warns. “Tishri is the month that manifests the wipeout,” Cahn said. “Throughout history, the greatest crashes have all been focused on Tishri.”

The Harbinger author feels the warning signs that America had turned away from God began in 1973, also a Shemitah year. Cahn feels that the decision to remove prayer from public schools and the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to legalize abortion were indicative that the United States was beginning a downward spiral and the nation founded upon the principles of Christianity was swiftly turning away our creator.
During the first week of the Shemitah year in September 2014, Russia surpassed the United States as the world’s nuclear power. During the second week of the Sabbath year, for the first time since 1871, the USA was no longer the most powerful economic power on the globe. Yep, you guessed it, China overtook the United States and still boasts the nation with the highest gross domestic product.
China, which is most definitely not a country based upon the principles of God, virtually “owns” the United States of America at this point. Should the Chinese decide to call in their loans, the economic collapse that would quickly occur would likely make the Great Depression look like a cakewalk.
Folks during the most difficult financial times in our history grew a lot of their own food, could make and mend their own clothing; these homesteading skills have sadly evaporated over the past several decades. The ability to survive a second Great Depression would prove nearly impossibly for a large portion of the populace, prompting civil unrest to develop within days of the crash.
