2012 Stories

I don't want to ignore your e-mail question about using any eFoods this winter. I live in an area (in Pennsylvania) that was not affected with very deep snow accumulation.  Also, I was able to get to the store at least once a week between our snow storms and I do have a good supply of food on hand.

I did open a bag of the oatmeal cereal and I say WOW what a difference in consistency and taste when comparing it to the individual packaged oatmeal put out by Quaker Oats and others. I also used a bag of the Tropical Fruit Medley and I was very pleased with that.  I was leery about the banana slices because bananas and my stomach don't get along but no problem. Before placing my order several months ago I did try the free packages and was very pleased.

Mr. Shenk, please keep getting the message out people need to know. Back in the early 1940s living in New Jersey my parents, brother, myself plus a multitude of other people lived through a two week period without electric power. Fortunately we still had a coal furnace and a coal cooking range in our home at that time.

God bless you and keep up the good work.

2011 Stories

Fortunately, I have not had to use my store of rations, yet. I can’t say I’m looking forward to the occasion, but should thetime come when we have to fall back on our eFoodsDirect supply, I at least know we will enjoy sustenance that is tasty and healthy—for awhile anyway.

When I first heard about eFoodsDirect, I envisioned the type of C Rations from my old military days. However, when I was sent a free trial package of creamed potato soup, I was VERY pleasantly surprised with the taste and consistency.

Even with daily news stories of catastrophes and severe weather conditions around our country, my wife is too secure with the supermarket being just up the street to seriously consider the worst happening. When I laid in our emergency supply of food, water and medical materials, her reaction was of the “grasshopper” instead of the “squirrel” fromthat famous fable. I hope we never have the occasion to prove her wrong, but if it happens, we’ll have sustenance for at least a month.

Thank you for the peace of mind.

I ordered the sample pack—didn't want to place a big order because I have been disappointed in the past with long-store food. But WOW! The food is delicious! I made a meal for my girlfriend. I didn't tell her it was long-store food until after we were done. She was stunned! I quickly placed an order for the one year stowaway knowing that eFoods is who I wanted to do business with. Thank you for your delicious food!

The street I live on has a fairly steep hill in both directions from my house.  During the January 2011 snow storm the street was solid ice in both directions.  Instead of walking to the store I decided to break out my two week responder pack.  Just as I was about to start heating up some vegetable beef stew the power went out, so I broke out the Coleman stove and set up two lawn chairs in the garage.  Our neighbors were out in the snow and walking around the neighborhood.  The beef stew and coffee I was making smelled so good several people came up and asked what we were cooking.  I showed them what it was and ended up making some packets for several neighbors.  They all loved the food and said they were going to order some for themselves.  It's always good to be prepared.  Also a good way to meet your neighbors.

I originally ordered the food products that you offer for emotional reasons of, quite frankly, mild—but, I think very real "paranoia". What with the food shortages world wide, this "hybrid seed" fiasco, I ordered few times in the recent past to test the voracity and honesty of both your company and products. I must say with all candor that I have been pleasantly surprised on both counts. What you may find (or already know from other testimonials) more interesting is that I have been fighting a weight problem for too many years to discuss. The Cheesy Chicken & Rice Casserole mix has not only "tickled" my taste buds but has enabled me to lose weight, slowly, as my Dr. has advised. I say to this: "Who'd a thunk?" Ha! Ha! I would also add that my cholesterol (LDC) is down and triglycerides are as well!

Thanks to you and your staff for your prompt, professional service as well as my sincere congratulations on an excellent product line and most efficient system of operations! I am a satisfied customer and look forward to years of doing quality business with eFoodsDirect.

In closing, I always share a bit of wisdom that I learned from a man who I consider one of the true "Gurus" of marketing with companies that provide excellent customer service along with a great product. Tom Peters has been an author and professional marketing adviser for many years... I will simply quote the title of only one his best sellers from the 1980s: Quality Is Free. Quality begins at the top. If quality is there, then it will be a concept held in high regard among all employees, from CEO to warehouse.

Best Regards,

Jim B., TX

I found myself without bread, with out breakfast foods. I was stuck in the house at least 4 days. I have presently moved to a house out in the country, not really having anything stocked up; anything can happen with the attitude in this place. Well that changed with an ice storm [last winter]. I was so grateful to received a gift that included bread mix pancake mix and cornbread mix and biscuit mix. I was able to prepare bread and have pancakes. I had some beans and made some cornbread. It was wonderful and I was able to share with my neighbor whom had nothing in stock. I was ever so grateful to have had the mixes; they saved me and a neighbor. We was able to get through this cold snap.

Now if the mixes could just run a chainsaw!

Many blessings,

Pam S., OH

I just couldn’t thank you enough, I haven’t had any major catastrophes in our life, but my husband and I haven’t been able to work as many hours as we have liked to and so for us food is an everyday emergency that we have been dealing with. We bought eFoods pre-packaged meals 1 year ago and we never thought the emergency would have to be that we don’t have enough money for food, so of course the months that we were short on money you guys were able to help us supplement those few weeks of food with your delicious eFoodsDirect pre-packaged meals, and my 15-month old loves your cheesy pasta shells, which gives me comfort knowing he’s eating something that doesn’t have all of those nasty additives! Well thanks for all you have done for this little family, when we have extra funds we will be purchasing a whole lot more of food from eFoodsDirect!

Storing food has been pretty much my decision from day one. My wife, however, enjoys the secure feeling of being self sufficient but didn't have the same sense of urgency. It took a little prodding but now we are 100% on the same page. We started by initially purchasing 2 Freedom Units from eFoodsDirect in November 2010. Since then, we have been adding to our reserves on a monthly basis. My wife and I both believe that food prices are going to skyrocket and now is the time to squirl our nuts away. We personally want more than just a one-year supply!

I have been encouraging my 2 sons (and wives) to prepare for their future but they have been financially strapped. They have wanted to become better prepared but haven't had the money. You can probably guess what they received from us for Christmas. Yes, a one-month supply of eFoodsDirect 4-Week Responders for each person in the family! Believe it or not, our sons and their spouses were very grateful!

My wife and I own a time share and wanted to enjoy it over a 3-day weekend. We are new to food storage. Eating out can be expensive especially when going to tourist destinations where people pay a lot more for their food. We decided to take our eFoodsDirect 7-Day Responder Pack with us for the trip and see if we would really enjoy the food. We were so pleased in the quality of the food. It wasn't just eddible, it was great! Besides that, it didn't take a lot of work to prepare. Add water and then heat and eat! We ate at a nice resturaunt once on the trip because I felt a little guilty and thought I should take my wife out for dinner. We both agreed later that we would have probably enjoyed the evening more if we had just stayed home in our condo and eaten our survival food. True story! Thank you for helping our family get started with our food storage program.

Mark & Cheryl K.,WA

We have been hit very hard this winter with multiple snow, ice, freezing rain, sleet, and high wind storms. We decided to take heed to all the warnings about the coming global crises and stock up when we can with storable foods, water, and other supplies we may need in the future.

I didn't really think about winter storms and power outages as much as total calamity in the future and not being any other way to survive for months to come. I have prayed many times about what to do and keep coming up with the answers to get prepared. I am so thankful we did!

The worst storm we had this winter was calling for rain to change to snow. Not really a bad forecast as we are used to that sort of winter in Ohio. But we didn't get rain; we got freezing rain and sleet. Then we had a big snowstorm on top of that. The next day, we got another 1 1/2 inches of ice on top of what we already had. That storm took our power lines down. We live in the country where there are a lot of trees and farmlands between our house and our power substation. We were trapped at our home because we live on a township road. They don't clean them like they do main highways. We live in a total electric home, so when there is no power we have no water, heat, or anything! In the past, we have had storms and lost electric for as long as ten days, so the thought of temperatures dropping to a minus ten below zero (actual temperature not including wind chills), was not a pleasant thought when the roads were impassible.

Luckily we thought about the Efoods we have been stocking up on. I had ordered several times over the past few years. We have a kerosene heater we brought in the house and heated water and cooked our eFoods meals on top of it. We hooked up the solar generator and had lights. We didn't get cold or hungry for the days we had to endure with no power.

We are so thankful to God and eFoods for the food we were able to have. Also to the Electric Company workers who came in from out of state to restore our power in less than a week.

Thank you eFoods for selling such wonderful tasty and healthy food. You sure kept us in good health this winter.

Sincerely Thankful,

Linda C., OH

I absolutely did not want to look at how the world is crumbling around us. And as for survivalist talk?  Well, really. That's for crazy people with no lives.  Just plain silly!  But, little by little, the truth crept into my consciousness that things aren't what they used to be. Inclement weather or one insane man could drop me into a state of emergency at the drop of a hat and I could do nothing about it.  Or could I?  Well, yes, as it turns out, I could, but I had to take my head out of the sand,

My first thought was to start stashing food, but how long would it last, and how would I plan it and what would I choose?  Dilemma!  Until, that is, I discovered eFoods.  After years of research, this organization had found ways to solve all of my problems and even had trial packages to prove their confidence in their product.  OK, I thought, why not give it a whirl?  I sent off for a sample.  When it came, I was in no hurry to taste it.  It just didn't look like my idea of dinner!  Eventually, curiosity got the better of me, I took the plunge and, just as I thought, it was pretty awful.  I knew it would be so that was the end of that.  I put the rest away although why I didn't throw it out I have no idea.  Some time later, I came across it, unexpectedly.  Enough time had gone by for me to forget just how bad it was, so I tried again.  As I was preparing it, I realized that I had made a mistake the first time around.  I had not quite followed the instructions. Hmm, I thought, I wonder if that made a difference?

I was by the stove, talking on the 'phone, as I was cooking.  I told my friend what I was up to and all about my bad experience with eFoods and that I wouldn't be buying it again. When I saw it was ready, I tasted it, still talking. It didn't seem bad so I tasted it again. And again. "You know what?" I said, "It's pretty good."  "No," she said, "You won't get me that way.  Not after all you said about it."  "I'm telling you, it's really surprisingly good."  She wasn't having any of that and announced she was coming over to taste it. "Fine," I said, "Come see for yourself."  I finished our conversation, hung up the phone, and felt my face flush with embarrassment.  Looking down into the pot I realized that I had eaten the lot!  I didn't mean to, I didn't!  I just kept on tasting until it was gone.

I told her it was good.  Now, she believed me.  The proof is in the eating!

Thank you for a great idea.  I am saving up!!

My neighbor Stan phoned. The 80 year old had grief on his voice as he explained he was out of milk. I worried about what to do. Milk is a staple for him. He eats Cherrios for breakfast and cream of wheat for his evening meal. His noon meal is often very meager.

In the past, the County Sheriff came to the rescue with an armful of food (Stan had run out of all groceries that time, and he was hungry). This time, he knew I would welcome his call for help. Yet, like him, I too was stranded due to weather.

The road conditions along the county and township roads were rough. I couldn't even make it out my driveway. Except for farmers feeding cattle and the rural mail carriers, everyone was pretty much locked in until the weather lifted. I was disheartened when I learned that the mail carrier could not pickup a package over 11 ounces from my home.

With the help of a friend, I made it to town and pulled up to the U.S. Post Office. I learned that the roads were getting open as I walked in with a priority mail evelope filled with a ziplock bag of the dry instant milk. Since I was already there, I got the package weighed. It was over 2 pounds, and would have been a violation had I attempted to mail it from my box.  I left the post office, and then swung by the grocery store.

We made it out to his farm. The Delhi Township grater was just ahead of us most of the route in. We delivered several bags of groceries. I also left the bag of the longterm storage dry milk. Stan was disappointed to see it, and explained he had some of that stuff and it taste horrible. He even picked up an old jar, and said "see." Looking at his milk I could see some obvious differences. His was tan in color, mine was white! I went to explain that this instant milk was different, and preceded to show him how to create the 1:4 mixture of dry to water. He assured me that he would not use it, but I encouraged him to hang onto it just in case.

The next storm came in no time. Stan still had not been able to leave his home. With that storm came that fun loving call. It was Stan calling to announce how good that milk in the bag was. He put in his order for me to get him some more. He did not dilute it very much, so he ran out quickly. He likes it creamy. He also put in an order for me to send apple jelly. I sent the jelly via flat rate USPS due to road conditions being treacherous once again.

Long story short: Thank you for helping me help a neighbor while he was stranded in his home some 10-plus miles off the main roads of Kansas. I tried speaking with Stan about the time when he would need to move to town. He is passionate about remaining in the home he has occupied over his entire life. So, I am keeping your products close at hand in case my friend Stan should need them again.

Thank you,
Tess D., KS
